Statutes/Rules Related to Ground Ambulance Regulation
 

Arizona Revised Statutes § 36-2232 through 36-2246 cover a broad spectrum of topics including the Director's powers and duties (36-2232); certificates of necessity (36-2233); hearings (36-2234); ambulance insurance requirements (36-2237); termination of service (36-2238); rates or charges of an ambulance service (36-2239); fees (36-2240); required record keeping and inspection of records by the Department (36-2241); temporary authority to operate in urgent circumstances (36-2242); investigations and dispute resolution (36-2245); and fire district and rural ambulance service requests for information format (36-2246).  These statutes explain the responsibilities of the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and ambulance service providers and are available for viewing at the Arizona State Legislature's A.L.I.S. website.   

The ground ambulance rules currently associated with the above statutes are Title 9, Chapter 25, Articles 9 through 12 of the Arizona Administrative Code (AAC).  These rules define how the responsibilities set forth in statute will be carried out.  These rules are available for viewing at the Secretary of State's website
