Bureau of Emergency Medical Services & Trauma System

Medical Direction/Base Hospitals

The Bureau of Emergency Medical Services & Trauma System, Arizona Department of Health Services, certifies all Advanced Life Support Base Hospitals in Arizona.

To become certified as Base Hospital you must complete a Bureau approved application. Upon receipt of your application the Bureau will then perform an on-site visit to ensure compliance with Statutes and Rules. Once certified, the hospital must be audited every two years, or as needed to ensure compliance.

The following links provide additional information for specific areas regarding Base Hospital certification.
