The drug list previously included as Table 1 was amended effective January 31, 2007.

A new Table 1 in R9-25-503 removes the EMT categories of EMT-I(99) Certified Before 1/6/07 and EMT-I(85) from the table and to amend the EMT-I(99) Certified On or After 1/6/07 category to EMT-I(99). The table lists the agents that different levels of EMTs are authorized to administer, monitor, or assist a patient to self-administer. Table 1 was most recently amended effective October, 15, 2010.

The Department has also adopted, as guidance documents, a number of drug profiles for agents included in Table 1. These drug profiles were developed by the Department, in cooperation with its advisory committees, to provide guidelines for the safe and effective use of agents for maximum patient benefit. These drug profiles are intended to be used as reference documents by medical control authorities, EMS educators, and EMS providers.
