Bringing Together Arizona’s child-serving agencies to collectively create and support an integrated system of care built on the Arizona Vision and 12 Principles
The History of the Arizona Children’s Executive Committee
In 2002, the child-serving agencies of Arizona signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) calling for the formation of the Arizona Children’s Executive Committee (ACEC). The signers of the MOU include; the Arizona Department of Health Services, the Arizona Department of Economic Security, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections, the Arizona Department of Education, and the Administration of the Courts. ACEC brings together multiple state and government agencies, community advocacy organizations, and family members of children/youth with behavioral health needs to collectively ensure that behavioral health services are being provided to children and families according to the Arizona Vision and 12 Principles. Information on the Jason K. Settlement Agreement and the Arizona Vision can be found at:http://www.azdhs.gov/bhs/jk.htm
ACEC strives to create and implement a successful system of behavioral health care in Arizona by serving as a state-level link for local, county, tribal and regional teams.
