Scope and
Purpose
The Best
Practice Advisory Committee was established to assist the
Division of Behavioral Health Services in transferring
“science to service” in a manner that meaningfully shapes and
supports quality clinical practices in Arizona. As an advisory
body, the Committee provides recommendations and guidance on
implementation of best and promising practices in prevention,
clinical and recovery services in the public behavioral health
system, including issues of innovation, fidelity, and
infrastructure to support adoption.

Who is the Best Practice Advisory Committee?
The Committee
consists of 16 voting members representing the diversity of
the public behavioral health system including – family
members, individuals with lived experience, substance abuse
and mental health providers, support and rehab service
providers, Tribal and Regional Behavioral Health Authorities,
and the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System
Administration (AHCCCS). Members are appointed for a two year
term by Eddy Broadway, ADHS Deputy Director for Behavioral
Health Services.
The Committee is
staffed by the Office of Clinical Practice Improvement in the
Division of Clinical and Recovery Services.
