Child Care Group Homes Rulemaking

On May 6, 2010, Governor Brewer signed SB1315, which changed certificate-related requirements for child care group homes and the Department.  SB1315 became effective on July 29, 2010 and gives the Department exempt rulemaking authority to amend the rules for certifying child care group homes for one year from the effective date.  A link to SB1315 is provided below.

The Department made the first changes to the child care group homes rules in in Title 9, Chapter 3, of the Arizona Administrative Code in July 2010 in a rulemaking that was effective on July 29, 2010 and published in the Arizona Administrative Register on August 20, 2010.

The Department has completed the second rulemaking to amend the child care group homes rules, deleting unnecessary and obsolete provisions, clarifying requirements, and reorganizing the rules, consistent with statutory authority, industry standards, and Department policies. The Department filed a Notice of Exempt Rulemaking with the Office of the Secretary of State, which was published on page 1530 in the Arizona Administrative Register on August 12, 2011. These rules were effective on September 30, 2011.
