Commission
The
Arizona Mexico Commission (AMC) looks to strengthen the
economic and cultural relations within the Arizona-Mexico
region and to develop Arizona's ties with Latin
Arizona-Mexico Commission Health Services Committee
Individuals, institutions and companies participate in
grassroots health policy development, exchange ideas and
information through cross-border communication and
collaboration, and contribute to the implementation and
advancement of cross-border health projects.
Arizona Pandemic
Influenza Plan
To lessen the impact of an influenza pandemic, the State of
Arizona created this Influenza Pandemic Response Plan to promote
an effective response throughout the pandemic.
Arizona State Public
Health Laboratory
The Bureau of State Laboratory Services exists for the
protection of the health of all Arizonans. Laboratory analyses
are provided to identify and investigate infectious and
communicable diseases including newly emergent pathogen. The
State Lab is part of the Arizona Epidemiology and Disease
Control team partnering to investigate and protect the health of
the entire community.
Arizona MEDSIS Program
MEDSIS is an electronic system to
help control disease in Arizona. Health care providers may use
MEDSIS to report cases of disease by computer to their local
health department.

Office of Border Health
California's Office of
Border Health facilitates and coordinates communication
between California and Baja California in addressing the
complex public and environmental/ occupational health concerns
along the U.S. Mexico Border.
Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention
CDC serves as the national focus for
developing and applying disease prevention and control,
environmental health and health promotion and education
activities designed to improve the health of the people of the
United States.
Cochise
County Health Department
The Cochise County Health
Department's purpose is to promote the health and quality of
life for all the county's residents through education, service
and leadership.
Mel and Enid
Zuckerman Arizona College of Public Health
The Mel
and Enid Zuckerman Arizona College of Public Health (MEZACOPH)
is a tri-university collaboration that involves the University of
Arizona - the lead institution, Arizona State
University, and Northern Arizona
University.Currently, it is the only
college of public health in the eight state western mountain
region and the only tri-university college in the State of
Arizona.
MEZACOPH provides both undergraduate and
graduate education in population-based health disciplines to
prepare students for professional and academic public health
careers.
New Mexico Border Health
Council
The New Mexico Border Health Council is a
volunteer organization of professionals and community
representatives mainly from throughout Southern New Mexico.
Its purpose is to improve the health status of the New Mexico
border population through advocacy, community education and
resource development.

The New Mexico Border Health Office is
located in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Its mission is to improve
the overall health status and health and human services in the
New Mexico border region and other border impact areas of the
state.

American Health Organization-El Paso
The El Paso Field
Office of the Panamerican Health Organization's mission is to
maintain a permanent and dynamic diagnosis of the health and
development situation of the United States-Mexico border
population, as well as to disseminate this information to all
agencies involved in border health. Also provides a link to

Pima County Health
Department
Located in Tucson Arizona, this health
department's mission is to promote and protect the health of
the people of Pima County AZ through the prevention of
infectious and chronic diseases; assessment of community
health, and management of catastrophic emergencies and other
threats to the well being of the public.
Santa
Cruz County Health and Human Services
The
role of the Health and Human Services Department is to provide
a better quality of life for employees and citizens of Santa
Cruz County.The Health Department provides preventive
intervention, surveillance, and education to all
individuals.

Salud de Sonora

Health of Sonora provides information on health indicators of

Texas
Office of Border Health
Located in Austin Texas, this
office oversees border field staff with expertise in
environmental engineering, toxicology, epidemiology,
sanitation and food safety along the Texas-Mexico
border.
U.S. -
Mexico Border Health Association (USMBHA)
Headquartered
in El Paso Texas, the USMBHA promotes public and individual
health along the U.S.-Mexico border through reciprocal
technical cooperation. This association brings together health
professionals and individuals interested in binational border
health issues.
U.S. - Mexico Border
Health Commission (USMBHC)
The
primary goals of the BHC are to (1) institutionalize a
domestic focus on border health which can transcend political
changes and (2) create an effective venue for binational
discussion to address public health issues and problems which
affect the United States-Mexico border populations. Arizona
USMBHC Members are Susan Gerard, Dr. Cecilia Rosales, and
Emma Torres.
U.S.- Mexico Border XXI
Environmental Health Work Group
As an initiative of the
United States Environmental Protection Agency, this group
works to identify and address, in a binational framework,
environmental factors that pose the highest risk to human
health, so that exposure to such factors may be
reduced.
University of
Arizona- Canyon Ranch Center for Prevention and Health
Promotion (CRCPHP)
Formerly known as
Southwest Center for Community Health Promotion at the
University of Arizona, the CRCPHP works primarily along
the U.S.-Mexico border and that places a focus on the
underserved, multi-ethnic communities living there. The social
context of the border region makes it a unique area to address
significant health disparities in a community-based
participatory fashion.
Yuma County
Health Department
The Yuma County Health Department's
stated mission is to assure and evaluate the public health in
the county through education, intervention, prevention,
delivery of services and advancement of public policies that
address current and emerging public health issues.
