The Arizona Department of Health Services has decided to endorse the collaborative joint position statement “Healthcare Personnel at High-Risk for Severe Influenza Illness: Care of Patients with Suspected or Confirmed Novel H1N1 Influenza”, which recommends the use of a surgical mask when caring for a patient with suspected influenza (except when performing an aerosol-generating procedure).
