Phoenix Undy 5000
Colon Cancer Alliance & FIT at Fifty HealthCheck Program Partnership
The Phoenix Undy 5000 5K is an annual fundraising event for the Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) of Arizona. The CCA and the FIT at Fifty HealthCheck Program (FFHP) partner together to plan and carry out the Undy 5000 and a large portion of the funds raised through the race are allocated to provide treatment to uninsured, low income Arizona residents diagnosed with colon cancer through the FFHP.
The FFHP provides free comprehensive colorectal cancer screening and diagnostic services to low-income, uninsured men and women that meet the program's eligibility guidelines. Please talk with the FFHP patient navigator at the facility nearest you for more information on treatment through this funding source.
2013 Phoenix Undy 5000
The Phoenix Undy 5000 will be held on Saturday November 16th at the State Capitol District 1600 W. Washington St. Downtown Phoenix. The 2013 planning team has an ambitious goal of recruiting 1,500 participants and raising at least $175,000.
Help us meet that goal by starting or joining a team, registering as an individual runner, or supporting a runner and help us ensure that all colon cancer patients in Arizona have access to lifesaving treatment.
Since the Undy 5000 began in Phoenix in 2007, a total of 5,731 runners have participated; raising over $500,000 to support the Colon Cancer Alliance's national and local prevention, research and patient support programs. Of that total, more than $176,000 has stayed in Arizona to assist prevention programs and provide treatment to uninsured colon cancer patients diagnosed through the FFHP.
