The
Serology Section is located in the Arizona State Health Laboratory at 250 N. 17th
Avenue in downtown Phoenix. The Serology Section is mainly responsible for
performing diagnostic testing and providing information on Infectious
Diseases. Other responsibilities include the testing of reference specimens
submitted from public and private laboratories for diagnostic purposes,
out-of-state premarital testing, and certain tests that are unavailable (not
provided) statewide. The State Laboratory is the go-between when forwarding
serological specimens from private and public health facilities for submission
to the Centers for Disease Control.
