The Serology Section is located in the Arizona State Public Health Laboratory at 250 N. 17th Avenue in downtown Phoenix. The Serology Section is mainly responsible for performing diagnostic testing and providing information on Infectious Diseases. Other responsibilities include the testing of reference specimens submitted from public and private laboratories for diagnostic purposes, out-of-state premarital testing, and certain tests that are unavailable (not provided) statewide. The State Public Health Laboratory is the go-between when forwarding serological specimens from private and public health facilities for submission to the Centers for Disease Control.
