ID Card Verification – Employers
Medical Marijuana Registry Identification cards are now being printed with colored bars distinguishing each card type! Learn how to identify the new ID cards.
When accessing the ID Card Verification System, enter in the cardholder's card number to see the cardholder's name and card status. Please note that pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute (ARS) §36-2807(A), "…employers may use the verification system only to verify a registry identification card that is provided to the employer by a current employee or by an applicant who has received a conditional offer of employment."
NOTE: Medical Marijuana Registry Identification cards are now printed with colored bars distinguishing each card type:
- Qualifying Patient – Yellow
- Designated Caregiver – Red
- Dispensary Agent – Blue
ADHS will begin printing the new cards with colored bars on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Please note that ADHS will not be re-printing existing cards with the new color scheme. Cardholders will receive this new card when and if a new card is issued after May 8, 2013.
Medical Marijuana Registry Identification Cards do not always expire on the expiration date printed on the card. In general, a card will remain ACTIVE if the cardholder has initiated a process to renew the card before the card's expiration date.
If the cardholder has applied for a renewal of a Qualifying Patient or Dispensary Agent Registry Identification Card, this card will remain ACTIVE until the processing of the renewal application is complete.
If a Qualifying Patient has designated a Caregiver, the Designated Caregiver Registry Identification Card for this patient will also remain ACTIVE until the processing of the related patient's renewal application is complete.
