WHAT:
Love them. Protect them. Immunize them.
More than 500 communities across the U.S. will participate in National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) April 24-30, 2005 to help educate parents on the importance of timely immunizations for children age two and younger.

PHOTO OPP:
If you would like to photograph children being vaccinated, many local doctor’s offices/clinics welcome media. Please contact Lauri Huff at (480) 317-6064 for time and locations.

WHEN:  Sunday, April 24 – Saturday, April 30, 2005

WHERE: local doctor’s offices/clinics

WHY:
Nearly 1 million children in the U.S. and an estimated 20,000 children in Arizona are not adequately immunized, and the number keeps growing, as more than 250 babies are born in Arizona each day. Children are in need of protection from 12 vaccine-preventable diseases before age two. Immunizations are safe and protect children, families and communities – making immunizations one of the most cost-effective public health strategies.
