In a continued effort to provide all Arizona residents with useful health information, the Arizona Department of Health Services today launched a Spanish-language Public Health Web site, "Salud Pública en Español".
“Our goal in Public Health is to protect and promote the health of all Arizonans, and we want to make sure Spanish speakers have access to the best prevention information available,” said Director Catherine Eden.
The Spanish-language site is accessible through the Department’s main web page,
www.azdhs.gov.
Director Eden said the web site is designed to inform the Hispanic community about the latest disease prevention news, immunizations, nutrition information, facts about HIV/AIDS and other diseases, and how to access mental health and other services.
“Our community is changing, we are more diverse than ever, and we have an increasing Spanish-speaking population,” Eden said. “We are working to provide high-quality and culturally appropriate information and services to all of our residents.”
Eden said the Spanish-language site will grow as the Department of Health Services plans to translate more of its articles, news releases and other documents into Spanish and make them available on the site. In addition, Spanish speakers will find gateways to health information produced by federal health agencies.
