The Arizona Department of Health Services has completed an unannounced survey of the Arizona State Veteran Home and found facility to be in “substantial compliance” with federal standards governing quality of care.
A team of surveyors visited the facility last week on behalf of the federal Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) to recertify the state Veteran Home to provide Medicaid and Medicare services.
The deficiency-free survey also allows the facility to be relicensed by the state Department of Health Services.
A team of trained surveyors spent three days at the Veteran Home last week on what is called a Revisit Survey. The unannounced survey came after the Veteran Home submitted a “Plan of Correction” that identified steps it would take to correct findings of a February survey.
A formal notice will be submitted to CMS within 10 days.
The Department surveys all nursing homes in Arizona to ensure that residents living in these facilities are receiving the respect, dignity and quality of care they deserve.
