Three weeks after the Infection Prevention and Control Advisory Committee became a reality, the members met to elect a chair and discuss their objective.  The committee now has a second agenda in place for the November 19th meeting.  The group is composed of health care professionals from several hospitals, health care facilities, and the state.

The legislatively-mandated committee will review current federal and state efforts to control infection in communities and the health care setting.  Eventually, the group will make recommendations to the Governor and Legislature for the prevention and control of community and health care associated infections.
