Distance learning provides the unique
ability to deliver instruction and training to individuals in their home, office
or classroom when face-to-face interaction is not possible.
Through the Public Health Training
Network (developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), and the
Satellite Training Partners Network (developed as part of the Arizona Health
Alert Network), public health workers can access training opportunities
via satellite videoconferencing without the expense of extensive travel or
costly conference registration fees.
Many Public Health Training
Network-sponsored satellite videoconferences offer Continuing Education Units (CEU's)
free or for a minimal processing fee.
Satellite
Videoconferencing
A one-way
videoconference delivered to multiple sites via satellite that includes a
video-based, in-depth presentation by subject matter experts with an opportunity
for the audience to fax or call in questions and receive live responses.
For information on satellite broadcasts, contact the Office of Public Health
Emergency Preparedness and Response at (602) 364-3289.
