U.S.-Mexico
Diabetes Border Project. Prevalence and risk factors study on diabetes. This
study will also assess utilization of health services and knowledge about these
health conditions along the U.S.-Mexico border region.
Nogales
Lupus Study. An exposure assessment study designed
to determine if the prevalence of Lupus in Nogales, Arizona is associated with
exposure to environmental pollution.
Nogales
Absenteeism Project. A short-term surveillance study
designed for the Ambos Nogales area in an effort to follow-up on a prevalence
study conducted in 1994 on asthma in Ambos Nogales in collaboration with the
Secretaría de Salud Pública de Sonora and the University of Arizona.
Household
Pesticide Study. The purpose of this study was to develop an
inventory and description of household pesticide use in a community on the
U.S.-Mexico border, and to examine potential routes of exposure for young
children living in those homes.
HPV/STD
Prevalence Along the Arizona-Sonora Border. Study investigating
differences in risk factor behaviors and prevalence of the human papillomavirus
(HPV) infection, and Chlamydia trachomatis among women living on both sides of
the border.
Pediatric
Lead Assessment on the U.S.-Mexico Border. Study conducted in response to
a request from the states of Arizona and Sonora, Mexico to determine the
prevalence of blood levels on the Arizona-Sonora border.
Sonora-Arizona Health Indicators. This
compilation of health indicators is a collaborative effort between the local
border sister communities in Sonora-Arizona, the Secretariat of Health in
Sonora, the Binational Health Office in Nogales, Sonora, the Arizona Department
of Health Services and the El Paso Field Office - Panamerican Health
Organization. |
