HIV Epidemiology Program

The purpose of the HIV Epidemiology Program is to monitor trends in the HIV/AIDS epidemic by processing HIV/AIDS case reports and conducting research. The resulting data are provided to agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local governments, healthcare providers, community organizations, and the public at large.

Epidemiology data are utilized by those who wish to be better informed about the HIV/AIDS epidemic and to assist in targeting prevention, care, and other services.
