HIV, STD, and Hepatitis Services
The modes of transmission of HIV, Hepatitis and STD’s are virtually identical, and epidemiologic data clearly demonstrate a link between HIV, Hepatitis , and STD transmission patterns. These programs are, therefore, more naturally conducive to integration of prevention, disease reporting and service delivery. Prior to integrating these programs, ADHS studied the historic patterns among reported cases of these diseases in Arizona and found very significant patterns of co-morbidity (view study). A more integrated response among these disease programs will benefit the public health.
NOTE: HIV Surveillance, HIV Care and Services, ADAP, and STD information can be found in the Office of Disease Integration and Services section and HIV Prevention information can be found in the Bureau of Tobacco and Chronic Disease section of our site.
