Welcome to the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, where staff maintain the State registry for lead poisoning and conduct statewide surveillance. The Lead Poisoning and Prevention Program is part of the Office of Environmental Health Lead Poisoning Prevention

Lead poisoning is a disease that is reportable by physicians and laboratories to our office. The data contained in these reports are used to characterize the nature and extent of the disease statewide. Our staff counsel adults and the parents of children with elevated blood levels about exposure reduction and prevention practices. For children and adults with moderate to high lead poisoning, staff perform environmental investigations to identify potential lead sources and specific interventions to reduce exposure. Brochures and Publications are available.

Please visit one of our focus areas to find out more specific information, including our new Childhood Lead Poisoning Targeted Screening Plan [PDF 1.04 MB]
