Rabies Prevention Poster Contest Results

The Vector-Borne and Zoonotic Disease program at the Arizona Department of Health congratulates all participants in the poster contest.

Entrants were asked to create posters with messages on ways to prevent rabies infections.  Students were reminded which animals are most likely to have rabies in Arizona (bats, skunks, foxes), to NOT touch bats or other wild animals, to vaccinate their dogs and cats for rabies, and to keep dogs on a leash when not at home.

And the winners are...

 

 

 

 

 

1st Place            7th Grader from Mountain Vista in Queen Creek

The winner will enjoy a 1-year family membership to the Phoenix Zoo and

a pizza party in their classroom for up to 40 students!

 

 

 

 

 

2nd Place         2nd Grader from Desert View Academy in Yuma

 

The winner will receive a family pack of admission tickets to the Phoenix Zoo and a plush toy.

 

 

 

 

3rd Place         7th Grader from Mountain Vista in Queen Creek

The winner will receive a World Rabies Day T-shirt, a mug, and ADHS officials will visit the school.

The artwork from these posters will be professionally reproduced for use in a statewide rabies education campaign.
