Other denominator data: 496 cats, 832 dogs, 57 coyotes, 13 bobcats, 6 mountain lions, and 37 raccoons were tested.

Some animals that are submitted are too decomposed for rabies testing, and thus the number of animals tested per county is considered as the denominator.

* The domestic cat from Santa Cruz County was infected with the variant found in skunks in South Central U.S., which includes southeastern AZ.

† The coyote and mountain lion from Gila County, bobcat from Pima County, and the bobcat from Yavapai County were infected with the Arizona gray fox variant.

*** The variant typing results are still pending for one bobcat from Pima County.

Known exposures to lab confirmed rabid animals: 18 humans and 67 domestic animals.
