Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program

Health Educator Conference

The purpose of the conference is to support the professional development of health educators in addressing teen pregnancy prevention. The conference goals to fulfill this purpose are:

  1. To inspire health educators to maintain constant learning as part of their contribution to program success.
  2. To increase awareness of current and emerging strategies, resources and trends to develop curriculum facilitation skills.
  3. To develop a network of partners to support future collaborations.

During this conference health educators will develop their leadership and group facilitation skills through opportunities to see and hear community leaders discuss approaches and material needed to effectively deliver a teen pregnancy prevention program. They also will learn from the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other teen pregnancy prevention programs from other agencies and counties. This conference will provide resources and developmental experiences that support opportunities to obtain new skills and knowledge. Health educators will be better prepared to serve in their role as they return to their communities after the conference. It is also encouraged for teen pregnancy prevention program managers and coordinators to experience day 2 of the conference to better support health educators in both the management and organization of their teen pregnancy prevention program.
