ADHS Breast and
Cervical Cancer Screening Program -- The Well Woman Healthcheck Program is
administered by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Bureau of
Community and Family Health Services, Office of Nutrition and Chronic Disease
Prevention Services. Women who are eligible receive regular screenings for
breast and cervical cancer through the Well Woman Healthcheck Program.

Arizona Cancer Control Program -- The Arizona Cancer Control (CC) Program provides leadership for and coordination of statewide cancer control efforts. The Arizona CC Program is funded by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control's Program Services Branch as part of the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program. The CDC defines Comprehensive Cancer Control as "an integrated and coordinated approach to reducing cancer incidence, morbidity, and mortality of cancer through prevention (primary prevention), early detection (secondary prevention), treatment, rehabilitation, and palliation."
Arizona Vital Statistics --
The
Vital Statistics section of the Bureau of Public Health Statistics examines
vital events and provides information on health status of Arizonans through
various statistical reports and direct requests. Reports available include the Arizona Health Status and Vital Statistics annual report and the Monthly Vital
Statistics Bulletin. Reports relating to health
status by ethnic group, injury mortality, mortality from Alzheimer's disease and teenage pregnancy,
and many more are also available on this
website.
SunWise Skin Cancer Prevention School Program -- The SunWise Program is a free sun safety curriculum that teaches children how to protect themselves from overexposure to the sun and prevent skin cancer. The SunWise Program is offered free of charge to all Arizona k-8 schools through the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).
Tobacco Education and Prevention -- The goal of the Bureau of Tobacco Education and Prevention (BTEP) is to prevent tobacco use in Arizona. BTEP funds several projects and programs throughout the state to enable people to make healthy lifestyle choices.
