Physical Activity Program
Arizona Nutrition Network and Fit WIC
The Arizona Nutrition Network is a public and private partnership led by the Arizona Department of Health's Bureau of USDA Nutrition Programs with the Department of Economic Security and Family Assistance Administration (FAA). The goal of the Network is to shape food consumption in a positive way, promote health, and reduce disease among all people living in Arizona by providing common nutrition messages to SNAP applicants and recipients.
Fit WIC is a physical activity program targeting preschoolers. Young children need daily opportunities for free, unstructured play, as well as time for structured, skill building play, like throwing and catching. WIC local agency staff conducts group education activities with both the children (2- to 5-year- olds) and their parents.
