Communities Putting Prevention to Work

Communities Putting Prevention to Work is a federally funded grant to promote state-wide policy and environmental change policies. These policy activities will support and institutionalize healthy behaviors related to obesity control, nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco control and prevention. For more information about this initiative visit the CDC Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion website.

Through this grant ADHS is working with partners to promote breastfeeding best-practices in hospitals statewide and worksite breastfeeding support practices and promote school wellness policies including nutrition and physical activity initiatives with schools for childhood obesity prevention.
