HIV Epidemiology Program
The purpose of the HIV Epidemiology Program is to monitor HIV/AIDS trends through case reports and research.
- Epidemiology data is utilized by those who wish to be better informed about the HIV/AIDS epidemic and to assist in targeting prevention, care, and other services.
- Agencies such as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local government, healthcare providers, community organizations, and the public receive our data.
- In 2012, 643 new cases were reported to the HIV Epidemiology Program; there are an estimated 15,288 existing cases in Arizona.
